Hi, I’m Madison.
I’ve been a counselor since 2020 (what a year to start!) Before then, I received my master of science in Counseling from the University of North Texas where I learned to work with children and adults on an individual level. During my education, I worked in many settings including a shelter for abuse, a foster home/home for single parents, and a program for children with autism spectrum diagnoses. I began working in group private practice after getting my degree.
After 4 years in this field, I can say I absolutely adore my job. It’s a priviledge to sit with each person as they explore their inner world.
Why Counseling?
Welllll, it took a bit to get here. As an anxious human myself, I have THE hardest time making decisions. The one thing I knew early on was that I wanted to work with kids. Their resiliency and creativity have always inspired me!
I stumbled upon play therapy one summer during my undergrad and ended up shadowing a couple of therapists. It was such a genuine way to support, advocate, and model-self acceptance for children. From there I found the UNT counseling program and Center for Play Therapy… a decision was made!
What I did not expect were the adult clients who would absolutely inspire me as well. Through therapy, they too explored their early experiences and found unique ways to cope with their circumstances.
Today, I find I do my best work with anxiety and trauma - processing old wounds, evaluating current beliefs, and fostering self-acceptance. The intersection of child/family development and trauma processing is where I thrive. I am continually honored and fascinated to work alongside my clients as they learn about themselves.

Here and now.
Here & Now Counseling is my solo private practice. I have learned immensely from the group practices and community agencies I have been a part of. Now, it feels like time for something new. In this endeavor I hope to model what I talk to my clients about on the daily - self empowerment and living genuinely. My goal is to dig into my specialties and provide compassionate care to everyone who walks through my door.
